Google Ad Words

We at nextinct have started a Google Adwords campaign, primarily in Australia and New Zealand to initially keep costs down. We used a company called Position Me Online from Perth to set this up using our direction ref keywords and markets we are aiming at and these guys seems to be the first comapny in Perth who operate in the web/seo/web marketing biz who really know what they are talking about and what they are doing together with the right tools. I can say this as I have had many fairly bad and expensive experiences with companies here who charge Rolls Royce prices for Mini Minor service and are basically full of it.
So far, we can see the profile of the company has been raised. This hasn’t resulted in products flying out of the door as it were but it does show that there is interest via our analytics and perhaps if trading conditions were better, and attitudes towards our endangered planet were a little more focussed, we could see some of that interest turning into business with the benefits for all that this eventuality would create.
We have allowed ads to be shown on our web pages too but naturally only for comapnies who share our philosophy and vision. This will help with our costs too.
Anyway, have an excellent festive holiday those of you who can and hopefully next year will be a better one for all. H

Product of Australia

As nextinct have always been part of the Australian Made campaign, we were proud to carry labels which say Australian Made on all of our products but now, due to rule changes, we can use the even more important in our opinion and hopefully yours too, Product Of Australia label. There is a significant difference in the use of these labels as to be a “Product Of Australia”, all content must come from Australia. We are therefore delighted to report that 90% of our products are 100% Australian from the cotton to the design, manufacture and logistics etc. Dont think there are many other companies in Oz that can make this statement.
Perhaps we will make this more apparent ref our publicity as we do say that our products are of a very high quality which means they wont wash out after 5 washes or lose their shape and indeed the print wont fade either again due to its quality but then excuse the pun, this doesnt wash either with the public in general as we only sell to the discerning few. A pity really as we are doing our bit for this country and wherever possible for the endangered species of the world but without much in the way of recognition. What the hell we’ll stick at it regardless.
Incidentally, nextinct’s philosophy and indeed practise where this company expands into new countries is to make all products in that country to ensure we get best quality, support the local economy and reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. H

Festive period sale

We at nextinct are going all out to take our message to the world by selling our products at very competitive prices on the way up to Christmas and New Year. All items have been discounted by at least 17.5% and most even more than that !!!!.
In the Perth Metro area of Western Australia we are even offering free delivery if the coupon code NEXFD is added during your order. We realise that postage costs in Australia are somewhat prohibitive particularly for smaller items and to the end of beating those particular blues, nextinct will deliver all items personally within 5 working days of order.

nextinct is a commercial business with what we see as moral and practical reponsibilities. We are taking these steps to try to publicise our goals ref planet and species conservation by selling our designs and products at significant discounts which in turn will affect what we give to organisations and charities concerned with the same issues as ourselves but, without publicity and sales, we wont be able to help at all so needs must and in anticipation, we thank you for your support. nextinct trademarks worldwide

Just to let you all know that nextinct has now completed the troika. Well not the dance although some say Im quite light on my feet for a big guy and I agree but I digress:- the important thing is that nextinct now have worldwide intellectual protection ref our very recently acquired US trademark which is practical and cute as we get to put that little R in the corner of the nextinct name, always wanted to do that for some reason. Of course, previously our Madrid Protocol coverage was obtained which has signatories across the world from the US to China. We have the individual cover for Australia naturally which all look good on the wall of the office. By the way, that’s three (3) the troika I was blathering on about earlier. H

Australian Fuel Prices

Again we have debates raging about the price of fuel here in Oz with the oil giants and retailers defending their positions with what can only be described as completely misleading and facile arguments.
From that last line of text, you’ll note dear reader that I am on the side of those who wish to see a fairer fuel pricing policy and the end of the virual cartel still operating in Australia by the Oil companies and their retailers.
Nowhere else in the “Western World” is an oil cartel allowed to operate as these price fixing scams were cottoned onto and outlawed many years ago in Europe and the US with massive fines striking the defaulters. But, here in Oz, these guys crack on their merry way causing unwanted and unnecessary inflationary pressures due to obvious cost increases to industry and the already beleaguered Australian consumer. Australia is one of the few countries in the world who have “independent” fuel retailer Billionaires. Make what you will of that fact.
Anyway, to further clarify the facts relating to fuel prices, please note the following.
Tax in Australia is almost 39c per litre plus gst added to the eventual retail price. Assume 1.50 per litre then tax and gst costs around 53 cents. This leaves 97 cents per litre to pay for initial supply, 40 cents per litre and overhead profit etc. Approx 47 cents retailer margin per litre.
Compare with UK and Europe. Tax is 59p, supply cost 47p, VAT 22p and retailer margin 5p per litre. Total cost per litre, 131p per litre.
Petrol and diesel are more expensive in the UK mostly due to taxes as if the rates were the same, UK petrol prices would be considerably cheaper than Oz, not to mention paying much more for the product in the first place. In any event, the facts are that some retailers in the world make around 8 cents a litre on fuel whereas in Australia, we are looking at profits of around 40 cents per litre. As our American friends would say, you do the math.
Incidentally, deisel is an even bigger rip off as processing of deisel is around half of that of making gasoline. How is it I know these things. 26 years in the Oil and Gas business helps, but doesnt help me now when I try to make a business work which necessarily involves transportation and travel costs together with all of the increases in costs associated with out of control fuel prices. Australian businesses need help to overcome the effects of ever increasing energy and commodity prices to allow them to compete in the global market. There seems to be a conspiracy afoot to ensure that this does not happen. H

UK Visit

Been a very interesting visit back to the motherland as it were. We have been visiting friends and family and of course our beautiful cities, being Edinburgh (for the festival) and London primarily, (despite London riots) and generally taking in the atmosphere which is in general as good humoured as ever, but certainly also a little depressed due to the economic pressures being suffered by all.
The state of the UK economy does ensure that we have value for money, other than petrol prices of course, which again fills us with mixed feelings as we compare the cost of living here in UK with Australia and realise that in Oz, we are being severly ripped off in the food, clothing and energy fields as population, transportation charges, labour costs etc can never justify the difference in costs and resultant profit margins which in my opinion are totally unjustifiable. Our short European mainland visits also confirm this as again, prices are much lower than we experience in Australia. Surprised why we can no longer export anything other than commodities ????. Dont be. Start getting real Australia as if not, the line will be crossed (I suspect this has already happened) and we will see a recession of major proportions caused by the avarice of the banks and commodity companies in particular backed up by that cartel which supplies petrol to our pumps and we’ll all suffer the way these guys are suffering here in the UK, Europe and America.

Website design changes

Changes to the way we present our products ref designs will be hitting the site as of next week latest. We need to make the designs more prominent as they are the essence of what we are trying to say and indeed to date, we think that we have’nt presented that aspect obviously enough. We have also not really publicised the fact that our protected designs can be purchased for use by other clothing, accessory or indeed airplane manufacturers for use on their products. We know our designs are excellent and we therefore need to let the public know what they are fighting for with the message playing the part it should.

Dubai visit and new advertising avenues

Went to Dubai last week for a quick board meeting with Lorna to discuss new UK and Australian initiatives re advertising and marketing strategies. Good stuff as ever and you will note that twitter and Facebook traffic will increase as will advertising directly on Facebook. We have advertised on Facebook and Google previously but have found Facebook to be more productive. We are also sending out targeted mailshots using a company in Oz called 3dinteractive. These guys seem to know their business and together with our new additions to our sales and marketing team of Ryan Carstairs here in Oz and my daughter Natalie picking up some of the reins in the UK whilst working around her studies, we expect to see a considerable increase in our online presence and interactive traffic in general over the next few months. Will keep you all updated on progress as we need to get our message out. H

Oz wide/international distributors

Due to nextinct’s modest and gradually building success here in Western Australia, we at nextinct would be pleased to hear from prospective distributors state wide and indeed internationally.

nextinct has an office in the UK and is looking to open another soon in the UAE but as local distribution is part of our philosophy and good for the planet, we would like to supply local distributors from Australia and abroad with our products and/or designs to further enhance our brand and get the conservation message over to as many people as possible. If there are any interested parties out there, please contact us through the website and we’ll take it from there.
